A couple of months ago my little brother (not so little anymore, he’s about to graduate!) sent me a parcel of B&W films. I’ve been shooting the first one sporadically throughout May, then sent it back to Cornwall where my brother developed it for me (he’s so useful). Here are some of my favourites.
May felt like it lasted for about 3 months this year. I watched my best friends get married, and was super busy at work. I also had a lonnnng Skype session with Pose in India (she and Emma are now in Sri Lanka, and have made a video of their time in India – it’s here and brilliant). Looking back at these photos, it was also quite a floral month!
Two of my best friends got married last weekend (it was such a lovely day, and I cried quite a few times). I wanted to get them something other than the classic wedding present, so I painted this.
The lyrics are from Lover of the Light by Mumford & Sons, which they used for their first dance. I don’t think I’d noticed how wedding-appropriate the lyrics were before this.
I painted a wreath of flowers around the words, mainly in blue (the main colour of their wedding), and included a small banner at the bottom with the date of the wedding.
