This is not my first blog. There, I said it. I’ve got blogs all over the place. Neither is this my first online portfolio. I’ve done it before.

With other providers though, I never really got what I needed. Either there was too little freedom – tiny upload limits and dodgy design templates – or too much, and I’d become so bogged down in making it look pretty that the content would suffer. Having spent a good few evenings over the last couple of weeks getting used to WordPress, I think I can safely say that this is the place for me.

It’s also made me think about the way I post online in terms of blogging. I’ve kept a tumblr blog since I started uni 5 years ago, and while I continue to use it on a semi-regular basis, it’s really just become a depository for photos that I dump there and then forget about. I’ve never really engaged in the blogging side of it. Similarly, I keep a daily photo journal, and have done for the last 6 years – but the one-photo-a-day element makes it an inappropriate place for recording my creative exploits.

I have decided then, that with my new website, I will also post on a new blog. Starting now. Here.
